💛 Thanks again to SPS and Giant Steps!

We’re grateful to the students and staff of St. Peter School for making this year’s Campaign for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities such a meaningful one, and to Giant Steps for joining us and sharing their mission of inclusion and support for individuals with autism.

Funds raised by the school, along with those collected throughout this month, will go out to support organizations like Giant Steps across our local community.

Thank you to everyone who participated for helping us build a community where everyone belongs. 💛

💛 Community. Inclusion. Understanding.

This week, Giant Steps, one of the community organizations supported by Knights of Columbus Council #2191, visited St. Peter Catholic School in Geneva to speak with students about autism, disability, and the importance of inclusion.

The visit was the culmination of a week of activities supporting the Knights of Columbus Campaign for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Students and staff wore yellow, created a banner of yellow flowers and messages of encouragement, and learned more about the individuals and organizations supported by the campaign.

💛 Why yellow? Yellow is closely associated with autism and disability awareness, and it became a fitting symbol throughout the week—a reminder to recognize the abilities and dignity of every individual and to build communities where everyone belongs.

Giant Steps provides educational, therapeutic, recreational, and life-skills programs for children and adults affected by autism.

Thank you to the students and staff of St. Peter Catholic School for embracing this mission, and to Giant Steps for sharing their work with our community.

This is what service looks like: learning, understanding, and inclusion. 💛

Council #2191 had a jam-packed February monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 3rd!

A big thank you to Father Nooraee for the Blessing of Throats in honor of St. Blaise, the patron saint of throat illnesses.

Grand Knight Kevin Kennedy honored Brother Knight Mark Oleferchik as Knight of the Month and Jim Keane with an honorary life membership.

We also hosted our 2nd Annual 50/50 Raffle. Congratulations to all of the winners, and a big thank you to everyone who participated. This raffle would not have been possible without our coordinators, Brother Knights Chris Larocco and Mark Oleferchik.

Finally, we held our annual Knights Chili Cook-Off. Congratulations to Tony Bliss for winning for the fourth straight year!

See you, brothers, at our next council meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd!
