What's blooming in August? 🌸

Richard A. Novak shared this lovely Rlc. Sharon King 'Volcano Queen'. A complex hybrid with a heavy C. dowiana influence. He picked this up from Hawaiian grower Ataksuka Orchids.

No meeting in August due to the picnic; see you in September!

Join us on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮, 𝗮𝘁 𝟮:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 for an afternoon of orchids, great food, and even better company!

The club will provide the meat and tableware. Just 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀!

🌸 We'll also have an 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. If you have an orchid you'd like to donate, bring it along! All proceeds benefit the Batavia Orchid Society.

🚗 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Driveway parking is limited. If it's full, drive around the block to the back of the property where the gate by the barn will be open for additional parking.

Natt has invited our club to visit his greenhouse, where we'll have the opportunity to browse his orchids, spend time with fellow members, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon surrounded by beautiful plants.

Bring a snack or beverage to share if you'd like. Natt will also have food available.

Whether you're adding to your collection or just coming to enjoy the greenhouse, we hope to see you there! 🌿🌺

My orchids are loving their summer vacation! Diurnal conditions (warm days, cool nights) are ideal conditions for orchids.

Tuesday, May 9, at 7:00PM is our next Batavia Orchid Society meeting at Batavia Public Library of Illinois. See you there!

Beautiful four blooms on my Blc. Phinyophan Boy ‘NN’. But wait one of these flowers is not like the others. Two columns and extra sepals??

Virus tested and it’s positive.

Anytime you see distorted sepals, petals, or lips be suspicious and test.
