First, we provide job opportunities for adults with disabilities who are historically a group that is overlooked for employment. Also, we help the vendors/customers who provide these jobs to the Workshop by producing a quality product at a cost-saving to them.

Before we can teach.

Before we can prepare someone for employment.

Before we can talk about independence.

Something has to happen first.

They have to belong.

They need to know someone notices when they walk into the room.

Someone saves them a seat.

Someone believes they have something to contribute.

That's why we changed the order of our words.

Belong. Learn. Thrive.

Because when people know they belong, they become comfortable enough to try.

Trying creates learning.

Learning creates confidence.

And confidence can change a life.

So tonight, make sure somebody in your life knows:

There's a place for you here.

Don't Make Their World Smaller
Sometimes the easiest thing is to decide what someone can't do.

We'd rather ask:

"What haven't they had the opportunity to try yet?"

A new class.

A first job.

Cooking dinner.

Making a friend.

Speaking up.

Helping someone else.

Taking another step toward independence.

Our job isn't to determine where someone's horizon ends.

It's to help make that horizon bigger.

Tomorrow, give somebody an opportunity to surprise you.

And don't forget to give yourself that same opportunity.

You matter. You are loved. Tomorrow is another chance.

What happens after school?

Where will my loved one belong?

You shouldn't have to answer every question alone.

That's why VSW looks beyond the individual to the entire family.

Our goal is simple:

Relieve family stress. Keep families together.

We can't promise every day will be easy.

But we can promise to keep asking:
