🍂 SOMETIMES THE BEST GIFT IS A DAY TO JUST BE A KID!

Pumpkins, animals, fall fun, and lots of smiles!

What a beautiful day for our 8th Annual Fun on the Farm at Windy Acres Farm in Geneva!

One of our favorite Kiwanis signature projects, Fun on the Farm brings together families supported by Cal's Angels who have experienced the challenges of pediatric cancer.

This year, 56 Cal's Angels families (232 people!) joined us for a day filled with fall festivities, laughter, and making memories together.

For these families, it's about so much more than pumpkins and petting zoos. It's an opportunity to set aside the worries, appointments, and challenges of everyday life, even if just for a little while, and simply enjoy being together. 💛

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful partners at Windy Acres Farm and Cal's Angels for helping us make this special tradition possible year after year!

🍕 PIZZA, PURPOSE & A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION! 💙

What a great evening with our Kiwanis family at Aurelio's in downtown Geneva!

Tonight, we welcomed Lindsay Hartman from AID's Street Outreach Program, who shared how their team supports individuals experiencing homelessness right here in our community.

We also learned about Mission Street Light, an Eagle Scout service project led by Eagle Scout candidate Kendall Albrecht!

Kendall is collecting essential items to create outreach bags that will bring warmth, comfort, and dignity to our unhoused neighbors during the cold winter months.

🧦 New socks
🧤 Winter gloves
👖 Drawstring pants
❤️ Boxer briefs and other everyday essentials

Want to help Kendall make a difference? You can purchase items directly from the Mission Street Light Amazon Wish List!
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3S0U33C0YKIEU?ref_=wl_share

And because this is our "YEAR OF FUN", we added a little friendly competition to the evening! 🎉

Thanks to our Co-President Deb Stob for bringing a fun guessing game featuring peanuts and gummy bears! Congratulations to Janene Albrecht for taking home the prize! 🏆

WANT TO JOIN THE FUN?

Our evening gatherings are now held on the THIRD TUESDAY of every month at 6:30 PM!

We'd love to see some new faces around the table!

💙 GETTING TO KNOW THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE SERVICE! 💙

We're trying something new at the Kiwanis Club of Batavia Geneva Area, and we love it already!

We're adding Member Spotlights to our meeting speaker rotation, giving our members a chance to share a little more about themselves! Their careers, families, hobbies, funny stories, or whatever they want us to know!

Because while Kiwanis is all about serving children in our community and around the world, it's also about the friendships and relationships we build along the way.

First up was our new Vice President, Marnie Heim!

Marnie recently retired from Batavia High School, where she taught English, and now she's excited to dedicate even more time to Kiwanis and our mission!

She shared some fun family memories and stories that helped us get to know the person behind the Kiwanian.

We love learning more about the amazing people who make up our club, and we can't wait to see who's up next!

Great friendships. Great people. Great things happening for kids. That's Kiwanis!

Interested in checking out Kiwanis?

We meet the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month at 12p at The Holmstad in Batavia as well as one evening gathering a month on the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30p at Aurelio's in Geneva.

We'd love to have to join us!

💙💛 A NEW KIWANIS YEAR IS UNDERWAY! 💛💙

Yesterday, October 1, we held our first meeting of the new Kiwanis year, and WOW, do we have a lot to celebrate!

We officially welcomed our 2026–27 leadership team:
Craig Hanson & Deb Stob — Co-Presidents
Marnie Heim — Vice President
Angela Cudmore — Past President
Vanessa Fania — Secretary
Jamie Saam — Treasurer
Plus an incredible slate of Board Members ready to serve!

And the leadership doesn’t stop with our club! We are incredibly proud of two of our members stepping into important Kiwanis leadership roles beyond Batavia and Geneva.

🌟 Jamie Saam officially began her one-year term as Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis Division 10!

🌟 Rick Poulton has taken on the very important role of President of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund!

How amazing is that?! We are so proud to see members of our club sharing their time, talents and passion for service throughout the larger Kiwanis organization.

We also welcomed several guests to yesterday’s meeting AND had possibly our tastiest program yet.

Keegan from Rite Bite – Butter Braids stopped by with samples as we kick off Butter Braid fundraiser season.

What an eye-opening program at Kiwanis this week! 💙

Thank you to Amy Nelson, Community Outreach Coordinator for Batavia Public School District 101, for joining us and sharing how BPS101 supports students and families in our community.

One number really stuck with us: 126 students in the Batavia school district experienced homelessness last year.

Amy shared that the biggest challenges facing families are housing, childcare so parents can work, and transportation.
Through confidential outreach and community partnerships, she helps connect families with the resources they need.

Thank you, Amy, for the important work you do and for reminding us just how much stronger our community is when we work together to support kids and families.

At our recent Kiwanis Club of Batavia Geneva Area meeting, we got to hear from one of our own members, Katie Burgess from the Batavia Park District.

Katie shared exciting updates on everything happening throughout the Park District, including the inspiring new community mural project, upcoming programs, and all the ways the parks continue to make Batavia a great place to live.

She even challenged us with a fun Park District trivia game that had everyone learning something new!
