Marklund / Marklund Day School is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities through residential and educational services. It is supported in part by the State of Illinois Department of Public Health, and by donations and grants. With campuses located in Bloomingdale, Elgin and Geneva, Illinois, Marklund has 500+ full-time and 200+ part-time employees, supported by hundreds of volunteers. Well, the Marklund Hyde Center certainly knows how to throw a Halloween party! 🎃

They had costumes that deserved their own runway, games that brought out some friendly competition and staff and volunteers who came ready to HAVE FUN! From start to finish, this crew made Halloween Eve one to remember.

Flashlights ready… it’s time to go ghost hunting! 👻🔦
Marklund Day School in Geneva brought the Halloween fun with a Haunted Flashlight Hunt, and these students are all in! Our friend Biak and his classmates are having the best time searching for Halloween characters with their staff.

The Halloween costume party at the Community Day Services program is in full swing at the Wasmond Center! 🎃👻

Every classroom went all out with fun themes, transforming each space into something special! From Hocus Pocus and Sesame Street to SpongeBob, Toy Story, barnyard animals and so much more, there was creativity around every corner.

A big thank-you to our amazing staff who put so much heart, creativity and energy into making today’s celebration extra special.

Therapy Thursday: Halloween Edition 💀🐶

Dolan is a bone-afide treat in his adorable skeleton costume! With Alison by his side, this volunteer pet therapy duo brought comfort, tail wags and a little extra Halloween happiness to residents and staff at Marklund Wasmond Center. One thing's for sure, they are giving everyone a skeleTON of reasons to smile!

🎃 These pumpkins are putting the AW in autumn!

Our Community Day Services teams turned ordinary pumpkins into extraordinary works of art! The Hyde Center participated in the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival, creating patriotic pumpkins to match this year’s America’s 250th anniversary theme! Meanwhile, the Wasmond Center let imaginations run wild with themes inspired by resident and staff favorite interests.

Check out this special Halloween-style visit from our friends at Music for the Ages! From music and bubbles to instruments and other hands-on activities, there were so many giggles and special moments to share. 🎶
