✨Meet the Mission✨
For Otto Thiergart, serving with the Humanitarian Foundation isn’t just a role, it’s an honor rooted in decades of compassion, connection, and purpose.
Otto has been a dedicated member of the Grotto community for more than 35 years and has served as a trustee on the Humanitarian Foundation’s board for the past eight. In his role, he actively shares the foundation’s mission, connecting with members across the Grotto and helping create opportunities for others to give and make a difference.
His journey into leadership grew naturally from years of service and relationships built along the way. Encouraged by those who recognized his passion Otto stepped into a leadership position and as he says, “the rest is history.”
What keeps him inspired are the stories.
“The many success stories from clients and their families… when you can give a child a smile, it makes your heart swell,” Otto shares. “It gives everyone involved a good feeling.” For Otto, this mission is deeply personal. As a husband, father of four, grandfather of seven, and great-grandfather of five, he reflects often on how fortunate his own family has been to avoid major health challenges. That gratitude fuels his commitment to helping others.
“It gives me a chance to help children who need it,” he says simply.
“A good smile goes a long way,”
“It helps with health, but also with self-esteem. It truly changes lives.”
Because of Otto, we’re able to continue our mission.
Join us in celebrating Otto and the incredible impact he's helped make over the past 35 years. ❤️🦷
