Last week, Jonathan had the time of his life staying at Give Kids The World and visiting Disney World and Universal Studios! He loved interacting with ALL of the characters. His mom shared with us:

“He is loving this! He has been SO very happy! I can't thank all of you enough!”

And that’s what it’s all about. ❤️ Creating special moments and memories that last a lifetime!

This week, we held our final quarterly EOS meeting of the year with our EOS Implementer, Bryan Little.

While Bryan has been instrumental in guiding A Special Wish through our EOS journey, his impact has reached far beyond meeting rooms. He has consistently taken the time to understand our mission, connect us with people and opportunities we may not have found on our own, and look for ways to help our organization grow.

He challenges us in all the best ways. He encourages us to think outside the box, make the most of our limited resources, and stay focused on the work that will have the greatest impact for the children and families we serve.

Bryan is the kind of person who genuinely wants to see others succeed, and we are so grateful for the heart, wisdom, and generosity he has shared with A Special Wish. We are so excited for the future and thankful to have Bryan in our corner as we continue moving this mission forward.

We believe that every dollar at A Special Wish makes an impact ♥️ That’s why we have a big goal this fall and holiday season: to raise $50,000 to grant the remaining wishes of 2026.

One part of this campaign will be our upcoming DINE-TO-DONATE events at restaurants across Central Ohio. Participating locations and dates coming soon!

✨ Meet Bear ✨

Barrett, or “Bear,” is a curious 12-year-old living with Alport syndrome. This November, Bear and his family will travel to Orlando for a magical holiday wish experience at Disney World and Give Kids The World Village!

Bear loves Christmas, the Grinch, Marvel movies, Mario, gaming, robotics, and coding. He is fascinated by learning how things are made and how they work, which makes Disney’s imaginative rides and experiences especially exciting for him! When Bear grows up, he hopes to become a mechanical engineer at NASA. 🚀

During his wish trip, Bear is looking forward to experiencing the magic of Disney at Christmastime, enjoying plenty of pizza and most of all, meeting the Grinch at Universal Studios!

We cannot wait for Bear and his family to make special memories together this holiday season!

For the third year in a row, the Eight Eleven Group chose to spend their Day of Service with A Special Wish, and we are so grateful for their continued commitment to our wish families.

One of the most fun ways they give back is by hosting a Party in the Park for our wish families. From an inclusive playground and zip lining to bubbles, music, food, bracelet-making, and a team of volunteers who go above and beyond, they make sure every child feels welcomed, included, and spoiled.

A wish mom shared that her son was “on cloud nine the whole time” and that the volunteers were able to bring her high-anxiety children out of their shells and fully engage all three of them. She called it an “outstanding, beautiful, and tear-jerking core memory” her family will never forget.

Along with creating such a special day, the Eight Eleven Group raised $1,520 to help grant more wishes for local children. Thank you for showing our families so much love. ❤️
