Greater Columbus Basketball Legends Association

Greater Columbus Basketball Legends Association the first professional leageue was disband in 1904 and the Original Celtics, "The Fathers of Basketball" were disbanded in 1928.

Provide recognition and support to former players, coaches, sports media personalities, and others who have significantly influenced the sport of basketball in the Greater Columbus Area. During the 1920's, the game of basketball had long been developed but there was no prospect of making a career out of the sport due to the disbanding of the most popular leagues an teams. Never the less, the YMCA

kept basketball alive by spreading knowledge of the game across the USA and the rest of the world. Basketball soon grew in popularity and brought a sense of camaraderie to communities such as Columbus, Ohio. Thus, the Greater Columbus Basketball Legends Association was founded on September 8, 2012 to provide recognition and support to former players, coaches, sports media personalities, and others who have significantly influenced the sport of basketball dating back to the 1920's.
