📚 **Back to School Night is TODAY!**

UMS families, stop by this afternoon for a self-paced Back to School Night!

⏰ **3:30–5:00 PM**

Families can:
• Explore the building
• Meet teachers
• Review and walk your child’s schedule

**Please bring a printed copy of your child’s schedule** to help guide your visit.

There is no formal presentation, so families are welcome to arrive anytime between 3:30 and 5:00 PM.

🍎 Welcome back, UMS teachers & staff!

The UMS PTSA was so happy to help kick off a new school year by welcoming our amazing teachers and staff back with breakfast!

Welcome back UMS Families! 🎉

A big PTSA welcome to our incoming 6th graders and all of our new student families! We loved meeting so many of you at the open house today.

🎉 That's a wrap on the 2025-2026 school year! 🎉

As we celebrate the last day of school, the UMS PTSA would like to thank our students, families, teachers, staff, volunteers, and community partners for making this year such a success.

This year, together we:

⭐ Grew our PTSA to 210 members
⭐ Hosted UMS Got Talent with nearly 20 student performers
⭐ Supported the School Store
⭐ Organized classroom care drives, Candy Crew treats, and end-of-year popsicles
⭐ Celebrated our 8th grade students
⭐ Provided staff appreciation events throughout the year, including our Welcome Back Breakfast, Conference Night Dinner, Cookies & Cocoa, and Teacher Appreciation Week
⭐ Hosted restaurant nights with Urbana Lodge and Manhattan Pizza
⭐ Raised nearly $2,000 through Spiritwear sales
⭐ Participated in the Reflections Arts Program, with 15 student entries, 8 advancing to the county level, and 3 earning recognition at the state level

A special congratulations to our Maryland PTA Reflections State Award recipients:

8th Grade Celebration - We Need Your Help!

Volunteer at the Event: We are looking for chaperones to assist with setup, cleanup, and support during the celebration from 1:00–3:00 PM on June 10th.

Contribute Items for Student Raffle Baskets: We are collecting fun items for student raffle baskets! Please review the suggested themes/items and sign up for anything you would like to contribute. Feel free to purchase one of the suggested items or get creative and donate something that fits the theme. Please label donated items “8th Grade Celebration” and drop them off at the UMS Front Office by Monday, June 8th.

‼️Update: Due to the storm forecasted for tomorrow (Thursday, May 21), the decision has been made to cancel the Trucks and Tunes event and performances at UMS.

The UMS PTSA is pleased to bring back Trucks N Tunes, an event that not only celebrates our band and orchestra program but also celebrates the end of another successful school year for our UMS families!

We are having the event on Thursday evening, rain or shine! We will adjust and hold the event inside if needed.

The UMS PTSA is still looking for volunteers to assist with the end of year celebation. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up.
