KICIT KIC-IT strives to provide a network of support & empowerment for Johnson County youth ages 16-25. All calls will be monitored Monday - Friday 9 am-5pm.

KIC-IT is the only transitional housing program in Johnson County. KIC-IT strives to provide a network of support and empowerment for Johnson County youth ages 16-25 to break the cycle of homelessness and promote independence through partnerships with local schools, churches, social service agencies and community members. KIC-ITs youth resource phone number 317-412-4972 is NOT managed 24 hours a day, 7 days week. Please leave a message when calling. No calls will be returned unless a message is left. For general questions about donations, volunteering etc call the office at 317-868-8742

For assistance, please call or text and make an appointment at 317-412-4973. After hours please contact 211 at www.Connect 2Help.com or call 211. If you are under the age of 18, are locked out of your house, trying to escape a dangerous situation, or have nowhere to call home please contact SAFE PLACE 24 hours a day at (866) 738-5437 or text 317-727-2571.

A few months ago we received the Bishop's Christmas Offering Grant to financially support our high school students. With this grant we have helped numerous students with materials, tool, and other things they need. We had one student who greatly benefitted from this grant. 🧡
One of our students is living "doubled up." Five people are living in a one-bedroom apartment. She was coming to school exhausted and overwhelmed, struggling to complete her work. We were able to offer some financial assistance and gift her with soundproof headphones and a sleep mask. She has reported that it has made a big difference in her rest and she is able to come to school and complete her work! 😴✏

This superstar had an amazing month! She not only got a job, she also enrolled in college classes! 👩‍🏫✏️
She has been working with her coach on employment for a while. They updated her resume, filled out job applications together, and did mock interviews. We are so proud of her for staying determined during her job search and we are so excited to see her grow! 🌿💙

Have you heard of the living wage? A living wage is what one full-time worker must earn on an hourly basis to cover the cost of their family’s minimum basic needs where they live without additional public or private assistance. In Indiana, a single person with no children needs to earn $21.79/hr to earn a living wage. 💡💵
A majority of our youth have a full-time job, some work multiple jobs and still do not earn enough to make ends meet. Without specialized training, education, or certification it can be almost impossible to earn enough.
We noticed this was a major barrier for our youth and started looking for solutions. That's when we reached out to WorkOne Central. Colby has started meeting with our youth to discuss their career interests, inform them of free training programs available to them, and help them find specialized careers to earn higher incomes. We are so excited to see this partnership grow and open doors for our youth! 👩‍🏭👷🚪
