Tonight, June 18, the Johnson County Masonic Association meets at Franklin 107. Meal at 6 and meeting at 7. This Saturday, Franklin Masonic Lodge hosts it's monthly Public Breakfast. Cost is $10.00 for adults. Other discounts may apply. 7:30 to 9:30 am. All are welcome!

Upcoming Local Lodge dates:

1) Saturday June 13. Breakfast at Union Village 545. Serving 7:30 to 9:30 with a "Historical Flags Presentation" following at 10. Public event, all are welcome!

2) Tuesday June 16. 50 Year Award of Gold for Brother Michael Joseph Hughes (my Uncle) with EA degree following. Dinner and cupcakes at 6 sharp. All are welcome to celebrate. Open Ceremony will begin 6:30 to 6:45 after Dinner. Lodge will recommence around 7 for the EA degree.

3) Friday June 19. FC degree at Greensburg 36. I am going to help. They have asked for help. I have room for 1 passenger in my truck. Leaving Franklin by 5.

4) Saturday June 20. Breakfast at Franklin 107

5) Thursday July 23. FC degree at Edinburg 100. Dinner at 6 and work thereafter.

Prayer need and upcoming area dates:

1) Brother Robbie Morse of Franklin 107 lost his mother and has traveled to Arizona to be with famiily. Please lift Robbie and family in your prayers.

3) Tuesday June 9. Informal FC practice at Franklin 107. All are welcome.

4) Tuesday June 16. 50 year award of gold presentation for Brother Michael Joseph Hughes as well as an EA degree. Dinner and celebration at 6pm. Presentation 6:30 to 6:45 open to the public. Lodge will reconvene for the FC degree approx. 7pm. (We will be opening Lodge early to save time)

5) Thursday June 18. JCMA at Franklin 107. Eat at 6 and meeting at 7.

6) Saturday June 20. Breakfast at Franklin Lodge

7) Saturday June 27. Breakfast at Greenwood Lodge.

8) Tuesday June 30. Double FC degree. Dinner at 6 and Work at 7

1) Thur. May 28. MM degree at Edinburg Lodge 100. Dinner at 6 with degree immediately after.
2) Tuesday June 2. Stated meeting at Franklin 107. Dinner at 6 and meeting at 7. All are welcome. Pretty sure it will open on the EA degree.
3) Sunday June 7. Franklin 107's turn to push wheelchairs at the IMH/Compass Park/ Ransford Chapel. More info to follow. Volunteers needed.

2) The Double EA degree at Devol 766 has been cancelled and rescheduled forJune 8. 6pm right after a short Stated meeting. They usually meet at 4ish to eat in the dining room. "Dutch treat".

Arnold Richard Parkhurst, 82 of Bargersville, IN passed away, at his home, on Thursday, May 7, 2026 in Bargersville, IN.
He was born June 12, 1943 at the military hospital at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, IN.
He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Franklin American Legion Post 205, as well as a 50 year member and Past Master of Union Village Lodge #545 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite.
He had been a machinist for Allison Gas Turbine in Indianapolis, IN for thirty years before retiring.
Survivors include his son Scott Parkhurst (Laura) of Franklin, IN, his daughter Mariah Hinderliter (Chad) of Shelbyville, IN, grandchildren Daniel Parkhurst, Audrey Parkhurst, Lucas Hinderliter (Kylie) of Columbus, IN, Morgan Hinderliter and Madisen Hinderliter both of Shelbyville, IN, a brother Michael Parkhurst (Janet) of Bargersville, IN, a sister Beverly Thompson (Steve) of Needham and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bernetta (Doty) Parkhurst and his former spouse, Ruth (Skaggs) Parkhurst.
A Masonic service will begin on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with a service following, being conducted by Pastor David Stephenson and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortury.com/obituary/arnoldpakhurst.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 12 Noon until the 2:30 PM service at the mortuary.
Burial will follow the service at Harris Cemetery in Union Township, Bargersville, IN with military honors being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard.
