Due to the forecast for heavy rain this Friday, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 22nd Annual Strawberries on the Square.

The good news? We’re turning this into an even bigger celebration by combining it with the Opening Day of the Franklin Farmers Market! 😍

The Franklin Farmers Market will run as scheduled from 8am-12noon, with Strawberries taking place 10am-8pm. More details, updated schedules, and activities announcements will be coming soon. 😅

Old scrapbooks are some of our favorite finds - small snapshots of everyday life. Paired with insurance maps, property records, and written accounts, these photos add depth to our understanding of cities. That's what preservation is about - preserving those seemingly small stories and moments, those cityscapes and storefronts, and that core memory of a downtown tapestry to launch into the vibrant future.

These photos were found at a garage sale and show several individuals on an average day in Franklin in the 1940s. We love the glimpse into life that these capture: the spontaneity, the silliness, and the joy that living in community brings.

Krista Linke, Franklin Heritage Board President, often reminds us that Franklin doesn't have mountains, or beaches, or big rivers for attractions - but we do have a full, restored downtown. Just like natural resources, historic buildings are a finite resource to steward and use well for the future.

As we embark on celebrating National Preservation Month during the month of May, our challenge to ourselves and to you is to create and cultivate meaningful relationships with your community.

Happy "Gotcha Day" to our long-lasting project, The Historic Artcraft Theatre! 22 years ago, our board and staff embarked on a journey to save a building, rebuild a community, and light up our downtown through our "marquee project."

Through stabilizing the building and restoring it to its Art Deco glory, we have connected with people and stories from all over the world. Preservation is truly about people and communities, and we are so glad to be rooted in Franklin and to be the stewards of the Artcraft Theatre. 🎉🎉We are so blessed to have volunteers, board members, staff, and the communty support this ongoing project!
