In 2011, Franklin Heritage, Inc. created what is known as the Franklin Heritage Teen Council, a committee composed entirely of middle and high school-aged volunteers that have spent their time, movie after movie, proving their capacity for taking on adult responsibility and passionately supporting change in their community. Artcraft teen committee members, or A-Teens as they are called, are able t

o spend their weekend volunteering with their adult counterparts, developing skills such as volunteer management and customer service relations. In this committee, teen volunteers fundraise, allocate funds, frame their own mission and vision statements, and then follow through with managing individual projects and goals. The opportunities presented to these teens are small-scale versions of some of the same business that comes across the desk of the Artcraft Theatre. The A-teens largest project to date has been "Cartoons for Cans." With this event, the A-Teens have revived a former Artcraft holiday tradition. On the first Saturday in November each year, patrons who bring a canned good donation gain free entrance to an hour of classic Looney Tunes cartoons on the big screen. In 2015, Cartoons for Cans raised donations of over 1,100 canned goods for the local Inter-Church Food Pantry! Be on the lookout for more projects and fundraisers from the A-Teens!
