Residents with questions about non-urgent matters can call the Emergency Information Hotline. United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades activated the hotline earlier this week. Call United Way 211 by dialing 2-1-1 or (239) 433-3900 with questions related to closures and real-time updates. Call 9-1-1 for urgent or life-threatening matters.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach has issued a Mandatory Evacuation for the entire Island.

We encourage residents and business owners to make a plan and be evacuated by 3:00pm, on Monday, October 7, 2024.

The Hurricane Re-entry Pass Program will be implemented following Hurricane Milton. If you are not a resident, please do not try to re-enter the Island as this will only make it more difficult for our residents to get back to their homes.

Get prepared do not wait at the last minute

Residents are urged to finalize hurricane plans, while continuing to monitor weather reports from local meteorologists and US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida.

Hurricane Milton is forecast to bring wind, life-threatening storm surge, and localized flooding to Lee County later this week. Residents need to:
- Revisit their family emergency plan.
- Check their emergency supply kits.
- Secure objects around homes.
- Monitor local meteorologists’ reports.
- Sign up for AlertLee.
- Monitor www.leegov.com/storm and Lee County social media channels.

Tune in at noon on Monday, Oct. 7, for information about evacuation orders and shelter openings, as well as LeeTran service to those shelters.

Residents who live in coastal areas or flood-prone inland areas do not need to wait for evacuation orders to mobilize. Go to friends' or family members’ homes or make arrangements to relocate inland.
