Thank you and thank you to all who make the Smallmouth Shootout possible, which is just a month and a half away! Pictures seen here are from our yearly final outing, which takes place at Dry Run Creek. We typically do 6 outings per year with a set group of kids, each outing building on the last, until we finally do a full weekend trip to Dry Run. None of what we do is free, it takes funds to make it all happen, which ties back to the original point: thank you to everybody participating in and making the Smallmouth Shootout possible. TMP is honored to be a recipient of the Bass Pro Outdoor Fund and deeply grateful for their incredible partnership. This past season, Bass Pro Shops joined us at our projects in Raleigh, Kimberling City, and Fayetteville to capture powerful stories from our mentors and mentees and highlight the joy and healing that fly fishing brings to youth in foster care. We are thrilled to share that our film was selected by The F3T and will be shown at select locations this season!
Special thanks to our Lead Mentors, Mentors, and Mentees who were the heart of this film. And a huge THANK YOU to Bass Pro, for believing in this mission and making filming so fun for our mentees!!!!

We are excited to announce our 4th annual Smallmouth Shootout will be taking place on May 30th! For those who don’t know- the Smallmouth Shootout is a catch and release fly fishing tournament and our biggest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds go to directly to getting local foster youth on the water and fly fishing. After the tournament we will have free food and drinks for everybody at Kings River Outfitters along with some amazing live music. We’ll have great prizes for winners and losers alike. AND to celebrate the announcement- we’ve got an early bird special for $10 off registration through the rest of the snowy weekend! Another season has come and gone. These consist of so many first. The amount of things we take for granted that are experienced for these children is incredible. The first time catching a fish is obviously the most significant. Secondly, we give the first opportunity to get on a boat for about half of these children. I can’t thank our mentors and the ones that support us enough. We couldn’t do it without you! I am so grateful to be apart of this community. -Tyler

I did not take one picture last night at F3T. Fortunately, someone was able to document that we were there! Huge shoutout to for having us out, supporting or mission and donating a sweet Yeti cooler to our raffle! The winner of the TFO Moment rod and NTR reel, yeti, gift card, and entry to the 2026 Smallmouth Shootout (May 30) was our friend ! We appreciate those that have supported us more than we can express❤️

Outing 3 complete! It was an awesome one as always. A lot of fish were caught and released. I was told by a young lady “ I had a lot of fun and was able to forget about everything for a little while.” That is what it is all about! Super grateful for our team and all of our supporters!

Byrd's Adventure Center we can’t thank you enough for being so generous to us! They donated the day to us and made sure it was a top tier experience for these young women. Second outing is complete, and every girl caught fish!

The final outing of the year is always super special for everyone involved in TMP. The kids get to show off everything they have learned over the first five outings while catching 20 trout and staying in cabins near Dry Run Creek! This is a super unique experience that is made possible by the support of the local community at our fundraising events like the Smallmouth Shootout. We want to thank everybody who came out to the Kings River this year and made such an amazing tournament possible! Big shoutout to winners and who won the one-fly on fire tiger deceivers.
