Our June 1, 2026 guest speaker was Jack Zaleski, longtime Editorial Page Editor of "The Fargo Forum". Jack shared thoughtful insights on the evolution of printed news and the changing landscape of journalism.

He has authored an interesting book, 'Forum Communications Company", which chronicles the century‑long success of this family‑owned media organization.

A big thank‑you to Jack for an engaging and enlightening presentation — and to Dale for arranging his visit!

At our May 18, 2026 meeting, we were honored to have Tom Noel, Lieutenant Governor-Elect for Division 2, as our presenter. We were also pleased to welcome Roger and Carlene from the Vikingland Club.
Tom led a great conversation about the Kiwanis clubs in the Fargo–Moorhead area, exploring ways we can collaborate in the future and sharing ideas around school clubs, fundraising, and community volunteering.
A big thank-you to everyone who joined us today — and special thanks to Rachael for arranging our presenter!

We had a good meeting May 4, 2026 with North Fargo High students, their advisor, and guest speaker Dan Klug from United Way.
Congratulations to Callie and Jersey, recipients of our 2026 Rough Riders Scholarships! It was inspiring to hear about their plans for college and the bright futures ahead of them.
Key Club Advisor Aryelle provided an update on the club's achievements throughout the school year. What an amazing group of students. Best of luck to all of you moving forward! We extend our sincere thanks to Aryelle for guiding the club over the past four years. Thanks to Diana for managing our scholarship program and coordinating the students' visit.
Dan delivered an informative presentation on the United Way’s work and their Bold Goals: Prevent Hunger & Homelessness, Prepare Children to Succeed, and Strengthen Families. We appreciate the United Way's ongoing service and impact to our community. Thanks to Lowell for arranging the speaker.

“Preschool to third grade is learning to read. Fourth grade on is reading to learn.”
At our after-hours meeting on 4/27/2026, we had the pleasure of hearing from Steve Grineski, a retired educator from our area, along with his wife, Lee. Steve shared such an interesting and inspiring look at the many ways people can volunteer with kids in our community. He talked about his work with Cass County Juvenile Treatment Court, where mentors are needed to help teens find meaningful job opportunities. Steve and Lee also volunteer in an elementary reading program and help serve meals at Churches United Micah’s Mission—and that’s just a part of everything they do to support others!

Huge thanks to our Builders Club for the thoughtful treats they gave each Rough Rider to show their appreciation this year. The bottled water, popcorn, and individual handwritten notes were such a nice surprise and very much appreciated!

We were also happy to have Lt. Governor-elect Tom Noel from the Vikings Moorhead Kiwanis and Izzy from Builders Club join us for the evening!

Thank you Phil Fallway for arranging for our speaker to be with us! Thank you Courtney for your excellent support of our Builders Club!

Rough Riders volunteered to help at the 9th Annual Journey for Hope Gala on Friday night, April 24. The event supported Jeremiah House, whose mission is to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children—two generations at a time. Representing our group were Peg, Rachael, Lowell, Bobbi and Diana. We were grateful for the chance to support such an important mission and to enjoy dinner after our work shift!
