This week in the Forum, Tania shares her perspective as a longtime nonprofit arts leader in Lexington, Ky., and Fargo-Moorhead and West Fargo. Her insights shed light on some of the common financial obstacles of the nonprofit industry and how local municipalities tend to view "art" in terms of profitability.

"When financial return is the only metric, the core human purpose of art gets completely ignored." β€” Tania Blanich, Executive Director

On this Thankful Thursday, we're featuring our 2026 City Arts Partnership grantees.

TAP provided local nonprofit arts organizations with more than $117,550 in total grant funding this year, thanks in part to Tri-Cities support.

But the other heroes in this story are YOU, the art-minded businesses and private citizens who donate their time, money and other resources to support local art and our mission at The Arts Partnership.

Advocating for art's place in a growing community is a challenge we take seriously and a cause worth fighting for. Thank you for walking alongside us.

We love this new community art initiative started by Furniture Mission of the Red River Valley, Gallery4, and the friends and family of local artist and community housing leader Lynn Fundingsland (1948-2025).

Lynn's Giving Art for Hearts and Homes reflects Lynn's own passions for artistic expression and helping others. Through the program, original works of art will be distributed to local under-housed individuals and families.

Thank you to TAP Artist of Color Cohort program manager and arts educator Maia Kim for making sure the word got out about this amazing expression of creativity and community! You can read the full story. Link in comments.
