Ogden House Open Today-Sunday, June 7!

Visit the historic Ogden House, a beautifully preserved saltbox home built c. 1750 for David Ogden and Jane Sturges. Generations of the Ogden family called this colonial home their own, offering a fascinating glimpse into early American life.

While you’re there, stroll through the charming Dooryard Garden generously maintained by the Fairfield Garden Club and discover the stories of a colonial family in the years leading up to America’s founding.🏡🏵️

Summer Saturdays Kick Off This Saturday, June 6! 😎

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, there’s no better time to explore our historic properties—including the Sun Tavern, which was rebuilt c. 1780 after it was burned by British forces during a raid in July 1779. Discover what colonial life was really like as you step inside this historic gathering place and discover the important role taverns played in bringing people together during the American Revolution.

Our historic properties—Sun Tavern, Victorian Barn, and Victorian Cottage—are open Saturdays from June 6 through September 5, 2026, between 11 am and 2 pm. https://bit.ly/3KSsdVW

This June, the Fairfield Museum is proud to recognize John Brannelly, Jaq Bush, and Erin Lopez featured in our “Portraits of Fairfield” exhibition.

John Brannelly, Jaq Bush, and Erin Lopez are all advocates of Fairfield Pride, a regional LGBTQ+ organization that works closely with the Town of Fairfield, CT. John Brannelly helped make history with the first raising of the Pride flag at Old Town Hall in 2019. 🌈

Join us for Drop-In Drawing on the Fairfield Museum Commons this Summer! ✏️

Local teacher & artist Omayra Rivera-Filardi will share techniques for drawing outdoors. Visitors can also explore all of the historic properties and try hands-on activities on the Museum Commons. More than 400 years of diverse stories can be found in the Victorian Barn, Sun Tavern, and Victorian Cottage, which has a dedicated early childhood space.
