Wow! Great work.

Huge thanks to the students and staff of the Unquowa School for donating over 100 boxes of cereal to our Super Food Pantry as part of their cereal drive! 🥣

Cereal, paired with shelf-stable milk, offer families who may be struggling with paying utilities a way to feed their families in the absence of such things as refrigeration.

Starting November 1, 2025, no new SNAP benefits will be issued, affecting about 42 million low-income Americans—including 360,000 residents here in Connecticut. Those with unused benefits from prior months can still use the carryover funds on their EBT cards, but no new benefits will load in November without federal action.

Neighbors are rallying to help, with collections popping up all over town. Join us at our drive at The SeaGrape on Reef Road, starting at 1 p.m.—we’ll be accepting non-perishable food and toiletries all day.

Mark your calendars for November 15th!

Rising grocery costs have put an increased demand on food pantries across . Add to that, as of November 1, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars will be withheld in November (possibly beyond) from eligible families, due to the federal government shutdown. This will put more stress on our local food banks and food pantries.

SNAP serves 360,000 individuals across our state. These are people we know, possibly our neighbors. People who will be struggling to find food and to feed their families.

Please support this food drive on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for Operation Hope of Fairfield in their mission to care for the neediest in our community.

Most Needed Items:
Pasta Sauce
Canned Vegetables
Soup
Chili & Stew
Canned Meat
Ramen & Instant Noodles
Chef Boyardee/SpaghettiOs’s
Baked Beans
Ensure/Boost
Box Milk
Cereal
Toiletries

Our next (and final) cook-out for the season at Operation Hope of Fairfield is taking place Friday, 10/24. Operation Hope's Community Kitchen serves lunch and dinner five days a week -- all made and served by the loving hands of volunteers! We've enjoyed serving our neighbors and seeing their bright smiles each month. As always, we cannot serve these wonderful meals without our generous friends. If you would like to donate a dish or an item, our list can be found below. Thank you!

Helene Daly and Alexis Harrison (Neighbors Helping Neighbors) are hosting their next cook-out for Operation Hope on Friday, Oct. 24. Many of you have kindly volunteered to prepare dishes or to supply items which make our barbeque successful and wonderful treats for our needy neighbors. This is our f...
