This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community while reaffirming our commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to all survivors, without judgment and without exception.

This is just the beginning of an important countywide conversation about working collaboratively to end human trafficking in Solano County — and seeing this community come together gives us so much hope.

We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the leadership of Solano County for making this initiative a priority and taking the time to be present. Your commitment from the top sets the tone for real, lasting change. 🙏🏾

Meet Victor.

To some, he may look like a cartoon lion on the walls of our Courage Centers.

To us, he is so much more.

Victor the Lion was named after a young boy named Victor, who showed extraordinary courage when he told trusted adults about the abuse he and his younger sister were experiencing. Their abuser was a relative living in their home. Because Victor found the strength to speak up, he and his sister were protected and kept safe.

Today, Victor the Lion serves as a reminder to every child who walks through our doors that courage comes in many forms.

A lion was chosen because lions represent what we hope every child feels while they are here:

🦁 Brave, even when they are scared.
🦁 Strong, even when they don't feel strong.
🦁 Protected, safe, and supported.
🦁 A reminder that healing and courage can exist together.

Every day, children enter our Courage Centers carrying stories they never should have had to live through. Victor reminds them that they are not alone, that their voices matter, and that there are people ready to listen, believe, and help.

Because sometimes the bravest thing a child can do is tell someone.

And sometimes, that courage changes everything.

Soroptimist International of Central Solano County has made a powerful $4,500 donation in support of victim services for women and girls in our community — and we are beyond grateful! 💜

What makes this gift even more meaningful is the partnership behind it. These are women who GET IT. Women who show up, who give back, and who refuse to look away from the needs in our community. That kind of shared commitment is rare — and we treasure it.

Behind every survivor-centered program is a team showing up with compassion, expertise, and unwavering support. 💜

The North Bay Trauma Recovery Center team includes dedicated clinicians, therapists, advocacy staff, and intake coordination focused on helping survivors navigate trauma with dignity and care.

From assertive outreach and evidence-based therapy to advocacy and comprehensive case management, the TRC team works to support every client emotionally, physically, and personally.

Their approach is simple:
Meet people where they are. Support them without judgment. Walk alongside them through healing.

SANE-SART was proud to join the IHART Mental Health Walk & Run in Vallejo, helping raise awareness for mental health, connection, and community support.

Events like this are an important reminder that healing can happen in conversation, in movement, and in simply showing up for one another. Thank you to everyone who walked beside us and continues to advocate for mental health awareness in our communities.
