🐾 **This isn’t your typical Pitter Patter Rescue post…** 🐾
“That’s an odd-looking cat,” you might be thinking. 😉 But nope! That’s a **Carolina Dog** a breed you don’t see every day!
Unfortunately, a Solano County citizen recently was forced to turning over an excessive number of dogs. And the reality is, **Carolina Dogs aren’t the right fit for everyone.**
These dogs are generally shy and suspicious by nature, and they require the right environment, understanding, and experienced people to give them the best chance at success. Sadly, only a select few were identified for rescue or specialized adoption.
We aren’t here to debate the outcome for the other dogs or the decisions the shelter had to make. We’re here to focus on the ones we *can* save. ❤️
🚐 **And that’s where the rescue mission began!**
Transport was secured for **FOUR Carolina Dogs** to make their way across the country to new opportunities in Ohio and Virginia! 🐕❤️
But getting these dogs to safety comes with a cost — approximately **$700 per dog** for transport.
And as anyone who has worked government entities, legal requirements, logistics, and timing can make all the difference. To get these dogs moving NOW, the necessary funds had to be available immediately, rather than tied up in the shelter’s donation system.
**That’s where Pitter Patter Rescue stepped in.** 💪🐾
We helped make it possible for these four dogs to get the opportunity they deserve. Now, we’re asking our community to help us offset the cost of getting them where they need to go.
Every donation helps us continue saying YES when an opportunity to save lives comes along. No amount is too small, and every bit of support makes a difference. ❤️
