Solano County has contracted SWCA Environmental Consultants to develop the 2023 Solano County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). A CWPP is used to identify and mitigate wildfire hazards to communities. The 2023 CWPP will build upon collaborative interagency efforts to reduce wildfire risk by reviewing and identifying new priority areas for wildfire protection efforts. CWPPs are designed to reflect the needs and concerns of each community. That means we need to hear from YOU! Please use the survey linked below to provide your thoughts directly to the planning team.

Don't forget to join us tomorrow for the Home Hardening webinar. Our speaker will be sharing the results of a study on the Camp Fire that wiped out the City of Paradise, and home hardening is a key takeaway, along with the fact that wildfire preparedness is a community responsibility.

The Green Valley Fire Safe Council, Fire Safe Solano, and Yolo Fire Safe Council are offering this Home Hardening webinar for residents. Home hardening is one of the most important steps a home owner can take to protect their homes from wildfire ignitions. The speaker, Yana Valachovic, is a Forest Advisor with
UC Cooperative Extension in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Ms. Valachovic will provide in depth steps and tips for home owners to take to prepare, and protect, their home for wildfire. This free webinar is sponsored by 100 Club of Solano and Yolo Counties and Elevate Sustainable Solutions.
