Since 1991, Cocoon House has grown into an all-encompassing, continuum of services that strengthens families while helping teens to reclaim their youth and discover their values, strengths and talents. This enables them to face the future with stability, dignity and purpose. Our services include emergency shelter, long-term transitional housing, case management, advocacy, and prevention. Cocoon House has been Snohomish County's only resource exclusively serving homeless and at-risk youth ages 12-24. We believe that every child deserves a home and the opportunity to achieve his or her fullest potential. Cocoon House provides youth housing and other critical community -based services to youth, caregivers, families and the community. From its grassroots beginnings, Cocoon has responded to the changing needs of our community. Since inception we have increased shelter space by 350% and now house more than 230 youth each year. In addition, through street outreach, prevention, education and a youth drop-in resource center, we reach over 1,000 youth, parents, and community members annually.

Help Us Create a Welcoming Space for Youth in South Snohomish County!

Cocoon House is expanding our outreach and support services at the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center, and we need your help!

As part of this expansion, we're creating a dedicated teen room where young people can relax, play games, get creative, and connect with supportive adults in a safe and welcoming environment.

This space will also help us connect youth and families with important resources, including housing assistance, employment services, life skills, basic needs, and family support.

We're looking for donations to help bring this space to life!

🎮 Gaming consoles (Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.)

🕹️ Video games

🎲 Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons games and cards

📺 TVs

🎨 Arts and crafts supplies

We're also collecting essential supplies to support young parents and families, including:

🍼 Baby formula, diapers, wipes, bottles, and Pull-Ups.

Whether you have a gaming console you're no longer using, extra supplies, or would like to purchase something new, your generosity can help us create a comfortable, engaging space for young people in our community.

A sweet ending to An Evening in SILK! 🍰🧁

A huge thank you to our incredible Dessert Dash donors for bringing a little friendly competition (and some delicious treats!) to this year's event!

Thanks to the generosity of these talented local bakers and bakeries, our guests got to end the evening on a sweet note while raising critical funds to support young people experiencing homelessness and housing instability throughout Snohomish County.

Young people at Cocoon House's Journeys program are getting creative this holiday season with a door decorating project! We're looking for donations of craft supplies to help them personalize their doors and make their spaces feel a little more like home.

Supplies we're looking for include:
- Cardstock, construction paper & poster board
- Markers, colored pencils & gel pens
- Stickers, washi tape & decorative paper
- Ribbon, yarn, pom-poms & felt
- Scissors, craft punches & other decorating supplies
- Removable, wall-safe adhesives

Want to help? You can order supplies through Amazon and have them shipped directly to Cocoon House, or stop by and drop off your donations in person!

What an incredible evening! 🦋💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us for An Evening in SILK 2026!

Thanks to the generosity of our community and a generous matching opportunity, we raised more than $435,000 to support young people navigating homelessness and housing instability in Snohomish County!

From an exciting live auction and festive Dessert Dash to hearing from our insightful panel of young people, the evening was a powerful reminder of what makes this community so special.

As we heard from our youth panel, change begins with time, trust, and a stable environment. When young people have safety and their basic needs are met, they can begin to see all the possibilities their futures hold.

For 35 years, Cocoon House has been supported by a community of people who show up, give, volunteer, advocate, and believe in young people. We are all Cocoon House, and this work is possible because of you.

One of the most important parts of An Evening in SILK is hearing the stories of young people.

On October 2, those in attendance will be able to hear the voices of young people impacted by homelessness. Their voices are an important reminder that behind every statistic is a young person with their own story, goals, challenges, and future.

Listening to young people helps us better understand the realities they face and the circumstances that can lead to housing instability. It also gives us the opportunity to learn from them and about what support has made a difference, what barriers still exist, and what they need from the adults and communities around them.

We’re grateful to the young people who are willing to share their voices with us at SILK, and we hope our guests leave the evening carrying their words with them.
