Safe driving around school buses is important.

School buses are back on Washington roads! And that means it's time for a refresher on when to stop. 🚌🛑

During a single day in 2026, Washington school bus drivers reported 960 illegal passes. If that pace continued across the 180-day school year, it would amount to more than 172,000 violations.

With nearly 341,000 Washington students riding the bus each day, knowing the rules matters.

🛑Flashing red lights or stop arm out? STOP.
🛑On a two-lane road, traffic in both directions must stop.
🛑On roads with three or more marked lanes, drivers traveling in the opposite direction generally do not have to stop, but drivers traveling in the same direction as the bus always do.

Illegally passing a stopped school bus carries a mandatory $500 fine.

Now that the Everett Public Schools calendar is released, you will also soon find out our Forest View PTA calendar of events for the 2026-2027 school year. Stay tuned!!!

Everett Public Schools has reached a tentative agreement with the Everett Education Association (EEA) on a contract, which includes the proposed student calendars for the next two academic years.

The final step in the process is for the Everett Public Schools Board of Directors to vote on the ratified EEA contract at its Sept. 8 regular school board meeting.

The first day of school for grades 1-12 will be Wednesday, Sept. 2. Preschool and kindergarten will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Any transactions moving forward will then use the Shopper’s Card Number associated with your digital account to be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. Fred Meyer/Kroger/QFC will then contribute a donation to Forest View PTA based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating Fred Meyer/Kroger/QFC Community Rewards organizations.

To be a successful Parent Teacher Association (PTA), it is essential for its Board members to trust one another and be able to work together as a team. This past weekend, our 2026-2027 Forest View PTA Board of Directors met together for a fun team building activity that gave an opportunity to learn about each other and work together, a team lunch for more team bonding, and a planning session for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. These opportunities allowed our Board members to learn about each other, review and align our PTA's Goals, Mission, Standing Rules, Policies, and ideas as a team, and provide a safe space for individuals to ask questions and receive guidance for specific PTA roles and activities.

We are already so proud of the incoming Forest View PTA Board. Our entire team is planning many fun activities and we are super excited! Our PTA Board's commitment to teamwork will lead to successes for Forest View children, staff, and community. On behalf of our Forest View PTA Board of Directors, thank you to everyone who has or will become a 2026-2027 Forest View PTA member, and who supports our team's efforts. We are all in this together for Forest View.
