What does a year of community impact look like? đź’™

It looks like books arriving in children's mailboxes, families connecting with financial resources, neighbors receiving critical food assistance, and communities coming together when disaster strikes.

Our FY2026 Annual Report tells the story of another year of working alongside donors, volunteers, local businesses, and community partners to create a stronger Snohomish County.

Inside, you'll find highlights of our programs, community investments, financial stewardship, and the challenges and opportunities shaping our work ahead.

None of this happens without people like you. Thank you for being part of our United Way community!

United Way of Snohomish County and our partners at Eisenhower Middle School are excited to introduce, the Book Vending Machine!

The Book Vending Machine program helps make reading fun, visible, and accessible by allowing students to select and receive books through a school-based vending machine stocked with high-interest titles. The program serves Eisenhower Middle School students and is designed to encourage reading engagement, build positive habits, and expand access to books students are excited to own.

United Way of Snohomish County helped support the effort as part of its commitment to Youth Opportunity. The program aligns with UWSC’s mission by investing in young people’s success and supports our early literacy vision by strengthening a lifelong culture of reading, learning, and opportunity.

Today, Snohomish County, let’s . 💛

As of August 31, 11,500 local children were actively receiving a book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Snohomish County.

And since our program began in 2023, we’ve mailed more than 400,000 books to local children.

Every one of those books represents something bigger: a new story at bedtime, a child excited to find mail addressed especially to them, a growing home library and another opportunity to build the early literacy skills children need to thrive.

United Way of Snohomish County is proud to serve as our community’s Local Imagination Library Partner — but this program depends on local support.

Today, Give Like Dolly Day, you can help us continue putting books into the hands and hearts of Snohomish County children.
$31 helps provide one child with books for an entire year.

Tomorrow is Give Like Dolly Day. 💛📚

On September 25, The Dollywood Foundation is launching a new annual tradition honoring Dolly Parton’s generous heart and lifelong commitment to children.

Here in Snohomish County, that legacy lives on through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, administered locally by United Way of Snohomish County.

Since launching in June 2023, our local program has put hundreds of thousands of books directly into the hands of young children — helping families build home libraries, create routines around reading and give children a strong start before kindergarten.

Tomorrow, we invite our community to Give Like Dolly by supporting the children and families right here in Snohomish County.

A gift of just $31 can help provide a full year of books for one local child.

Something special is coming September 25. 💛📚

This Friday marks the first-ever Give Like Dolly Day — a new annual tradition created by The Dollywood Foundation to honor Dolly Parton’s generous heart and lifelong commitment to children.

Here in Snohomish County, Dolly’s legacy lives on every month as thousands of local children receive books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Since United Way of Snohomish County launched our local program in 2023, more than 400,000 books have been mailed to children across our community.

On September 25, we’ll join communities around the world in celebrating that legacy — and inviting Snohomish County to help us keep it going.

đź’› Mark your calendar. Give Like Dolly Day is September 25.
