What makes a space feel welcoming?

For some people, it is being greeted with kindness.
For others, it is knowing they can show up as themselves without having to explain who they are.

At Globe Northwest, we believe welcoming spaces are built through connection, respect, support, and belonging. Every program, gathering, and conversation helps create a stronger community for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and community members.

We would love to hear from you.

Let’s build community together.

At Globe Northwest, we want our programs, resources, and spaces to reflect what our community actually needs. Your voice matters in helping shape what comes next.

What would you love to see more of?

More youth programs?
More family resources?
More community gatherings?
More support groups?
More opportunities to volunteer or connect?

Every idea helps us better understand how to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and community members across our region.

Share your ideas in the comments or send us a message. We would love to hear from you.

Community care is built through shared effort. It shows up in conversations, programs, events, partnerships, and the everyday ways people choose to support one another.

Thank you for being part of this work and for helping build a more connected, welcoming, and affirming community.

What helps you feel like you belong?

Sometimes it is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Sometimes it is a conversation where you feel heard. Sometimes it is being surrounded by people who understand, support, and celebrate you.

At Globe Northwest, we believe belonging is built through connection, care, and community. Every program, gathering, and conversation helps create more affirming spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and community members.

Community is built together.

Throughout June, Globe Northwest will be showing up at local Pride events across the region to connect, celebrate, and support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and community members.

Every program, event, and conversation helps strengthen a more connected and affirming community. Whether it is a parade, picnic, festival, block party, or resource table, these moments matter because they create space for people to feel seen, supported, and welcomed.

We are grateful for the volunteers, partners, youth, families, and community members who help make this work possible. Pride season is a reminder that community care grows through shared effort, ongoing connection, and showing up for one another.

We hope to see you at a local Pride event this month.

What are you doing tonight?

Globe Youth is a space where 2SLGBTQIA+ youth can connect, build friendships, and feel supported. Every Wednesday evening, we come together to create a welcoming environment where you can be yourself and spend time with people who get you.

Whether you are looking to meet new friends or just have a place to hang out, you are always welcome here.

Come by, bring a friend, and see what it is all about.

A proposed federal rule could impact access to safe shelter for transgender people.

HUD is currently considering changes that would remove references to “gender” and “gender identity” from existing protections. In practice, this could require individuals to access shelters based on s*x assigned at birth, rather than their gender identity. For many people, that creates real safety concerns and increases the risk of harm, discrimination, and exclusion.

Access to safe, affirming shelter is not just a policy issue. It directly affects people’s well-being, dignity, and ability to find support when they need it most.

Public input is open right now, and community voices matter in decisions like this.

If you want to share your perspective, comments can be submitted through June 29:

Looking to get more involved behind the scenes?

The Globe Northwest Asset Team meets every other month to support planning, collaboration, and community growth. This group plays an important role in helping shape programs and strengthen the impact of our work.

Our next meeting will take place on the second Sunday in May. Community members are welcome to connect, learn more, and see how this work supports services for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and families.

It’s a great opportunity to be part of thoughtful conversations and contribute to meaningful community impact.
