We are extremely grateful to share that together, at The Catalyst Ball, we raised...$155,000!!!

We keep replaying the moment when we shared Seabiscuit’s story. His amputation, his recovery, and the fight it took to get him to where he is now.

As we watched his story unfold, the room fell quiet. And then we shared a truth that sits at the heart of our work: Seabiscuit’s are everywhere.

Cats who need emergency care, amputations, long recoveries, second chances they can’t fight for on their own, and simply to be counted as worth saving. 

Second chances come true for cats like Seabiscuit when a community of people like you decide they matter. 

We’re grateful. We’re energized. We’re in awe of what happens when our community comes together like this. And now, we’re ready to take on the rest of 2026!

WE DID IT! 🪩🥳🐱

Last night, we gathered and turned compassion into action. Because of you, our community, we didn’t just meet our goal—we surpassed it!!!

We’re still counting the final total and can’t wait to share what your generosity made possible, but for now, we’re simply sitting in gratitude. Gratitude for every guest, sponsor, vendor, donor, volunteer, bidder, and supporter who helped make this night so meaningful.

To those who couldn’t join us in person, we felt your love all the same. Through your messages and support from afar, you were part of this night too.

We have so many photos and memories to share soon, but for now, here’s a sneak peek of some of our beautiful community in the photo booth!

Executive Director Ashlynn Boyce just took the stage, giving her speech at Paws and Claws Cat Rescue’s 2nd annual gala, The Catalyst Ball!

Over the past 6 years, Paws and Claws has saved over 3,450 cats from euthanasia. This work is done through the support of our community, and tonight will determine the impact we can have in 2026.

Even if you couldn’t be in the room tonight, you can still be a catalyst. We welcome you to browse and bid in our silent auction, or consider making a donation to help us continue doing this lifesaving gift. Every act of generosity matters. Thank you for standing with us in every life we save together. Together we are saving lives and building community.

Watch Katherine Francis and Ellen Samberg’s speeches at Paws and Claws Cat Rescue’s 2nd annual gala, The Catalyst Ball!

Katherine Francis, President of Friends of Berrien County Animal Services, has worked closely alongside our shelter partners for years, helping strengthen the collaboration that makes so much of this work possible. To date, we have saved 337 cats from Berrien County Animal Services!

Ellen Samberg has dedicated over 600 volunteer hours since 2024! She also holds a deeply personal connection to our mission through her foster cat Valerie, one of our longest-stay residents, who has been in her care for a year.

This is what saving lives and building community is all about! 💙

Six years ago Paws and Claws was born, changing my life and the lives of thousands of cats we would go on to save. I didn’t know it in May of 2020, but over the next six years we would build a community of compassionate, kind, generous individuals who would feel so passionately about the work Paws and Claws does every day. That community is you— and I am grateful you have joined us for this wild, exciting ride of saving felines and building community.

The last six years have been nothing short of easy but the work we have done in just six short years is special and important and downright incredible.
