We want to take this moment to reaffirm our commitment to our mission and to you, our community.

Together, we can take action to support our community and fight back against climate change, rollbacks of federal environmental protections, and increasingly harmful policies. You can directly support our mission by joining us and engaging with the organizations who are actively working toward systemic change.

Our action is greater when we work in unison toward a common goal. You can trust that we will continue to do everything in our power to protect our environment and all who inhabit it, regardless of your background.

Together, we can create real change and help guide Oregon into a brighter, more just and equitable future for all.

Title V Permit Application:
Republic Services’s Title V Permit for Coffin Butte Landfill is up for renewal for the first time since 2009. A Title V Permit determines how much pollution a large industrial source is allowed to emit. Permits set the upper limit on various types of pollution and the practices an operation must follow to ensure compliance.

SB 726 Rulemaking:
SB 726, “Methane Emissions Monitoring,” was passed in 2025 and requires Coffin Butte Landfill to implement better methane emissions monitoring practices. This rulemaking meeting will include a presentation on the rule changes by DEQ and is a great opportunity to let DEQ know they are on the right track!

2026 is a big year for environmental justice in Oregon.

In Eugene, new Public Health Standards are on the horizon. In Portland, the Planning Commission has recommended limiting fuel storage expansion at the CEI Hub, a long-overdue move to protect nearby neighborhoods. Meanwhile in Corvallis, we’re celebrating the denial of the Coffin Butte Landfill expansion and continuing to hold them accountable.

This work will positively impact the lives of Oregonians across the state for years to come.

Beyond Toxics is fighting for health and climate justice. Your donation helps fuel this critical work. Tap the link below to give today ⬇
