☀️ Summer Recap with the cellist of Delgani, Eric Alterman

From studio sessions to mountain passes, Eric's summer covered a lot of ground, some of it very high up.

🎧 He spent time in the studio with engineer Pyata Penedo, working on his new album, Traveling Days in the Universe Parade.

🎪 His full band took the stage at Oregon Country Fair.

🏔️ He also spent time trekking in Ladakh, India, reaching 17,000 feet, hiking through the Markha Valley, and warming up at tea houses along the way.

・・・

"I can't wait to introduce the music of Laura Rebolloso to our Delgani audience. I'm excited to arrange her songs for string quartet in this unique collaboration and celebration of Mexican music." -Eric Alterman

From mountain trails to string arrangements, we can't wait for you to hear this season. 🎻

☀️ Summer Recap with the violist of Delgani, Amanda Grimm

Amanda's summer had a little bit of everything: chamber music, momentary switch of instruments, the lovely Gus, and a lot of time outdoors.

🎻 She performed the Arensky quartet with her OSO colleagues, Marilyn de Oliveira, Emily Cole, and Trevor Fitzpatrick, at ChatterPDX.

🪈 At the National Flute Convention in Portland, she tried her hand at a plastic flute and performed works by Deena Grossman and Dianna Link.

🏕️ She also chased outdoor adventures all summer: the redwoods of Northern California, hikes through the Columbia River Gorge and Los Angeles, and a three day backpacking trip to Shi Shi Beach on the Olympic Peninsula, along with jumping into the freezing Pacific.

🎼 July brought Oregon Bach Festival with colleagues Jen Harrison, Zach Galatis, and Charles Noble. A fitting preview since Charles joins Delgani in February for the Brahms B-flat Major Sextet!

🐾 And no summer recap is complete without her best pal, Gus, seen here on Rockaway Beach at sunset.

・・・

"I am so looking forward to this coming season; we are playing amazing repertoire with wonderful guests and I'm so excited to share all of it with our incredible audiences!"

-Amanda Grimm

☀️ Summer Recap with the second violinist of Delgani, Jannie Wei

Jannie's summer was full of firsts, filled with family time, water, and a few surprises along the way.

🎣 She took her kids fishing for the first time. They caught and released blue gills, which took her right back to her own childhood, fishing with her family every weekend and practicing violin by the pond.

⛺ Her family went on their first camping trip, with views of Delfino Vineyard in Roseburg and blackberries picked straight off the vine.

🐟 A separate afternoon was spent chasing little fish in a stream with buckets. No luck, but plenty of laughs.

🦒 A family trip to Wildlife Safari (.safari) meant seeing every animal on the map that day, giraffes included.

🧩 And somewhere in between all of that, she finally finished her puzzle painting of Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhône. Reach out if you want to give it a try!

・・・

"I am looking forward to playing some of the music that Delgani has played in the early years and playing them again this time with completely different members.”
-Jannie Wei

Some things come full circle. We can't wait for you to hear this season. 🎻

☀️ Summer Recap with Anthea Kreston

Delgani's summer break doesn't mean quiet time, especially not for Delgani’s first violinist, Anthea.

📻 She started the summer as a new Artist in Residence at All Classical Radio (All Classical Radio), bringing her voice to listeners across the state, from blogs to podcasts and performances.

📚 Over the summer, she has been getting for her book to launch - Crescendo: Chronicles of an Adventurous Violinist, which is now available for preorder. Yo-Yo Ma calls it "an indomitable spirit."

✈️ She also made time for Japan and a favorite Oregon summer tradition, the Oregon Country Fair with her family.

"We've got an amazing repertoire and concerts for Delgani - we're really coming into this season strong, and playing more deeply together than ever before."
