Better Eugene-Springfield Transportation (BEST) is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization formed by citizens concerned about the future of our community. We are a group of people with diverse backgrounds and interests, from both Eugene and Springfield, all of whom appreciate the importance of public transit to the future of our community. We are working to educate the public and local decision makers about the benefits of transit.

Sadly, a pedestrian is killed every 74 minutes in traffic crashes. Remember, at some point in the day EVERYONE is a pedestrian:

🚶‍➡️ Follow the rules of the road
🚶‍➡️ Use crosswalks when available
🚶‍➡️ Walk on sidewalks when available

🚘 Look out for pedestrians and minimize blind spots
🚘 Be careful in hard-to-see conditions
🚘 Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks

🚴 Ride with the flow of traffic
🚴 Be predictable

Drivers, remember to check:
🚗 Blind spots before changing lanes
🚗 Intersections before making a turn
🚗 Your mirror before opening your car door
