Thanks to a grant from NAMI National focused on Long-Acting Injectables (LAIs), NAMI Erie County had the opportunity to present to Dr. Eaton’s nursing students at Penn State Behrend!

During the presentation, students learned about LAIs as a treatment option for individuals living with mental health conditions, including how they work, their benefits, and the important role healthcare professionals play in supporting informed treatment decisions.

A huge thank you to Dr. Eaton and his students for welcoming us and engaging in these important conversations. Together, we're helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, informed, and stigma-free mental health care! 💙

What a wonderful time connecting with our community at the Blue Coats’ Neighbors Being Neighbors event at ECAT this past week! 💚

NAMI Erie County brought a little creativity and positivity to the event by inviting attendees to paint rocks with uplifting messages and words of encouragement. 🎨🪨

We were also grateful to have our board member, Sheila Silman, join us for this special event!

Thank you to the Blue Coats for bringing our community together and reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference! 💙

For this episode, Stigma Stompers co-host Heather stepped into a different role: sharing her experience as Josh’s mom. 💚

In this clip, Heather opens up about some of the frightening symptoms Josh experienced with PANDAS and what it was like for their family to watch him go through such sudden and scary changes.

Their story is a powerful reminder of why PANDAS awareness matters, and why families deserve to be heard, supported, and believed.

🎄✨ Who says it’s too early for Christmas spirit? Even in October, we’re spreading holiday cheer! ❤️💚

Our creative friends at GECAC Greater Erie Community Action Committee got a head start on the holiday season by making beautiful handmade ornaments that are headed to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg to be displayed on their Christmas tree! 🎨🎁

We love seeing a little Erie County creativity and holiday magic making its way to the state capital! 🎄✨

We had a great time attending the City of Erie Employee Wellness Fair this week! 💚

Thank you to the City of Erie for inviting NAMI Erie County to be part of this wonderful event! We enjoyed connecting with employees, sharing mental health resources, and reminding everyone that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Together, we're building a healthier, more supportive community and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health! 💙

Knowing that our conversation helped connect a family with someone who understands what they may be going through means more than words can express.

🎉 70 NEW TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AIDERS! 💚

Over the past few weeks, NAMI Erie County has had the opportunity to bring teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) training to Harbor Creek High School!

We are proud to celebrate 70 students who are now better equipped to recognize mental health challenges, support their peers, and connect others with trusted adults and resources.

A huge THANK YOU to Harbor Creek School District for prioritizing youth mental health and helping us build a more supportive generation! 💙
