A common misconception about NWLS is that we're a government agency. But as a private nonprofit, all funding from federal and state sources only goes to casework - not outreach.

That part matters, because many people in our local community don't know we exist. Some find us too late, after a hearing they faced alone or a home they didn't have to lose.

We've been providing free civil legal services to low-income residents of northwestern Pennsylvania for more than 50 years. With your support, we can continue our mission: outreach to those in the local community who need it.
