For survivors of domestic violence, an emergency nurse may be the first person to offer not only medical care, but also a listening ear, a safe space, and a reminder that they are not alone.

At SafeNet, we recognize the vital role emergency nurses play in supporting survivors, responding with compassion, protecting dignity, and helping individuals take their first steps toward safety and healing.

Thank you for being a voice of reassurance in moments of crisis and for treating every person with kindness, respect, and humanity. Your work makes a difference far beyond the emergency room.

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor Indigenous communities, celebrate their strength and resilience, and recognize the ongoing need for safety, healing, and justice.

While domestic violence impacts people across all gender identities, American Indian and Alaska Native women and girls experience disproportionately high rates of violence. More than 84% of American Indian and Alaska Native women experience some form of violence in their lifetime.

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous survivors and communities, and we recognize the importance of culturally responsive, survivor-centered support. Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.

Today and every day, we honor Indigenous voices, advocate for safety and healing, and reaffirm our commitment to ending domestic violence. 💜
