Urban University

Urban University Urban University is a of students, families, and mentors pursuing servant leadership together.

We offer a variety of after school courses and summer workshops to city and county youth, 7th-12th grade, seeking intentional leadership development. Students apply, interview, and are accepted for limited spots that are available. The experiences we offer include career exploration, academic enrichment, service learning, commerce and faith formation.

Urban University Sewing & Denim Design students are honored to have their jean bags and quilts featured in the 2026 Bayfront Quilt Fest celebrating the Hands All Around Erie Quilt Guild 40th anniversary. We are also thankful for Miss Susan who has led our sewing courses over the last 8 years and the many members of the guild who mentor our students in this artistic craft and skill. Stop down at the Bayfront Convention Center on Friday (5/30) and Saturday (5/31) to take in these and many other beautiful works of art. See flyer with complete details in photos.

Thank you to Miss Brenda and Pastor Andy for leading tonight’s Card Making and Crocheting Workshops. Students, parents and mentors were creating useful items to sell at our holiday Gallery Shops to raise funds for Urban University’s historical trip to Washington D.C.

This afternoon, the Urban University commUUnity gathered together to celebrate our four graduating high school seniors and the incredible journey each of them has taken in pursuing growth, leadership, and purpose.

What a joy it has been to watch these students grow in character, courage, resilience, and servant leadership over the years. We are so proud of the young adults they are becoming and excited to see all that God has ahead for them in this next chapter.

A heartfelt thank you to Miss Cheryl for graciously hosting such a beautiful celebration.

Last night we concluded our Sustainable Technology course in partnership with the Regional Science Consortium with a Family Showcase where Urban University students prepared and presented their solutions to agricultural problems using robotics and technology. Our future is in good hands with some very ingenious ideas.

Our Urban University Sewing Creative Studio wrapped up last night following four sessions of creativity and production. Through our Creative Studios, students are growing their skills, developing entrepreneurial experience, and creating quality items for commerce.

All items produced through this studio are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting UU’s upcoming historical trip to Washington D.C.

We’ll be hosting a Gallery Shop this December, but if you’d like to purchase an item early and support our students now, please send us a message or email us at [email protected]
