Free virtual class alert - Thursday at 8pm! PERFECT for back to school!

New school, new teacher, new friends. Even when we’re excited, a lot of “new” transitions can translate to a lot of new behaviors at home. A licensed parent educator will lead a 90-min seminar designed to help you understand the transition to the first week of school from your 3- or 4-year-old’s developmental perspective. After a developmental review, we’ll discuss strategies that can promote your child’s school adjustment for a successful start to the year. Following the presentation, an ELC teacher and ELC parent educator will answer questions from the audience.

Though targeted towards Edina ELC families, any local caregivers are welcome to attend. Perfect for new or returning preschoolers.

Cost: Free, but registration required. This seminar is sponsored by Edina Public Schools & Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE).

Meet your classmates and other ELFC families, and reconnect with friends from last year at the Playground Playdate hosted by the ELFC PTO! The Playground Playdate will be held at Rosland Park from 10-11am on Tuesday, August 25th.

Due to construction on the pedestrian bridge over Hwy 62 near Rosland Park, there are some road closures in the area. The parking lot closest to the Rosland Park playground is accessible if you come from 66th Street or Valley View Road.

The event will be cancelled if there is inclement weather. Cancellation information will be shared via our website (edinaelfcpto.membershiptoolkit.com/home) and social media.

Get Hornet spirit wear for the whole family in time for Spirit Week and Homecoming (October 2)! With a wide selection of items in infant to adult sizes, and exclusive designs that you’ll only find here, you can find something for everyone! Items can be picked up from the Edina Early Learning & Family Center front office beginning Friday, September 25 at the latest or shipped to your home. A portion of the proceeds from the sale is donated to the ELFC PTO.

There is still time to participate in this year’s school supply swap! Drop any unneeded supplies by Friday, August 14. And head to Southview middle school on August 15 to pick out any supplies you need for the upcoming year.

Join us for our last party of the year on Wednesday, May 13 from 4-6pm at the ELFC (enter through Door 5)! Play on the playground! Be entertained by the Baron of Bubbles and enjoy twisted balloon art by Vicki! And of course, popsicles & snacks! The party is free and open to all ELFC families.

In the case of inclement weather, the party will be moved indoors at the ELFC. While the Baron of Bubbles and Vicki will not join us indoors, we will have activities in the Big Gym and play time in the Little Gym.

Tomorrow is the last day of our district food drive go VEAP. Any and all donations can be made at the main office.

Today is the last day to place orders for hanging baskets, planters, and vegetables, annuals and perennials to plant in your own garden available through Gerten’s spring plant sale! Visit www.gertensfundraising.com and enter Store ID 739 to see the full selection and place an order. The ELFC PTO earns 30% of plant sales and 15% of plant card sales. Site closes TONIGHT at 10pm!

Plants will be available for pick-up before Mother’s Day in Edina on Thursday, May 7 from 3-6pm or Friday, May 8 from 9-11am.
