🌡️ Gentle Reminder: Check Water Temperatures Before You Fish

As summer temperatures rise, our rivers and streams can warm up quickly. Trout experience increased stress when water temperatures climb above 65°F, and catch-and-release mortality rates increase significantly as temperatures approach and exceed 68°F.

If you find water temperatures above 68°F, consider giving trout a break and exploring cooler waters, fishing during the early morning hours, targeting warmwater species, or simply enjoying the river from the bank.

A simple stream thermometer can help you make informed decisions that protect the fisheries we all love.

Healthy fish today means better fishing tomorrow. 🎣💙
