This month at the iAM MUSIC Institute, we’re digging into Zimbabwean rhythms, jamming acoustic, and learning to improvise over jazz and funk grooves, all led by working musicians who love to teach.

Understanding African Rhythms Rhythm
Join the internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean musician and iAM MUSIC Ambassador for a hands-on exploration of traditional Zimbabwean rhythms, songs and polyrhythms. We’ll play, sing, listen and move together on African percussion and voice, and Blessing will break down how each part layers into something bigger.
No experience needed. Just bring yourself.

The Music Mixer is our monthly acoustic meet up for musicians who want to play with people, not just around them. In small groups we’ll work through 2–4 songs across folk, blues, bluegrass, acoustic rock and pop, learning to weave strum patterns, find our roles in the ensemble and try out some fresh chord substitutions.
Guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, keys, voice and percussion (brushes only!) are all welcome. Bring basic chord knowledge and good vibes.

Our Jazz & Funk Jam + Improv Workshop gives you the tools to jump into jam sessions around town with confidence. We’ll cover scales and modes for improvising, groove concepts, rhythm-section communication and theory for jazz and funk, then put it all to work in a live group jam.
