Team HPP's Second Wave continues to make incredible progress in their training for the Great American Loop. Working with the Florida heat, the team completed three all night rows. By rotating team members each night, they improved their teamwork, shift patterns, and night navigation. Most incredibly, they navigated their first lock! This is a very important step, as the Great American Loop has between 100 and 150 locks depending on the route. Safely completing their first lock is a huge milestone. And they made a new friend a long the way 🐬

Our mission is to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson's through The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Team Fox. 100% of all donations go to finding a cure for Parkinson's. Visit donatehpp.org to make a difference (link in bio.

"I started rowing in college, took a long break, and rediscovered the sport after COVID brought me back to the water. That decision changed everything: it gave me community, it gave me this team, and it gave me a mission.

My uncle passed away from Parkinson's in early 2025 after a decade-long battle. My cousin was his caregiver. Watching her advocate for her father through years of decline showed me what this disease demands from the people who love you most.

When I was invited to join the Second Wave crew, I said yes without hesitation. Relationships have always been my “why” for anything. In 2027, I'll be one of the women rowing the 5,200-mile Great American Loop to raise funds for Parkinson's research via Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising arm of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

This row combines everything I love: adventure, athletics, travel, and an incredible group of women enduring for something that matters." — Elizabeth Hall, Second Wave Crew Member

“Parkinson’s doesn’t define me. It doesn’t own me. If anything it has become a motivator, pushing me to live with greater purpose.” — Ashley Ellis, HPP Second Wave Team Captain.
