Women's Resource Center is a one-stop-shop for women and families to access community resources.

The Women's Resource Center leads the way in helping women and girls achieve greater self sufficiency in La Plata County. We provide personal, social and professional growth opportunities through our 7 different programs assisting some 1,500 clients per year. Community support is required to sustain our operations so become a member today!

What a night. On Wednesday, our Womenade community came together and raised $11,855 for neighbors in La Plata County. This amount includes a matching grant from the Michael & Elaine Moravan Foundation, every dollar went twice as far.

This is what Womenade grants make possible: cancer care within reach for a neighbor, a safe ride to school for a daughter, training completed so one woman can turn around and guide others. Small gifts, given together, changing real lives. 100% of proceeds go directly to grantees.

To everyone who showed up, gave, and brought a friend: thank you. You are what makes this community strong.

Ever wonder what it looks like when a community takes care of its own? On May 20th, we’re inviting you to see exactly how it’s done.

Join the Womenade Council at Perbacco Cucina Italiana from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM for an hour focused on connection, local resilience, and real-time impact.

What is Womenade?
Womenade is a grassroots financial aid program that cuts through the red tape. We provide immediate support to working individuals in our community who are facing a sudden, unexpected hurdle. Think of us as the "financial first responders" for those moments when life tries to stall our momentum.

How the Council Works
We don’t just talk about problems; we fund solutions. The council reviews and approves grants for essential needs that keep people on their feet, such as:

Reliable Transportation: Auto repairs so a neighbor can get to work.
Rent Assistance: Allowing families to stay in their home.
Emergency Relief: Essential household bills that just can't wait.

A Legacy of Action
Since we first gathered in 2002, the Womenade Council has been a quiet powerhouse of local stability. Over the last two decades, the program has:

Supported over 750 individuals through financial hardships.
Distributed more than $328,000 in direct grants.
