Dr. Haaz started Girls Empowered to EMPOWER girls by providing them with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and resources to stand up for oneself, make positive choices, and be in control of one's future. The organization started with offering Camp Girl Power, an empowerment camp for pre-teen girls during th

e summer. Girls Empowered, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, now provides customized empowerment programs and workshop for girls from elementary through high school throughout the year. The organization is also available to provide presentations for parents, educators, and professionals to help empower girls in the community.

Today's theme at Camp Girl Power was healthy relationships. They learned the qualities of healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, how to set healthy boundaries, be assertive communicators, and upstanders. Thanks to Nova Bucks for their help in teaching some of these invaluable skills. These girls put these lessons into practice not only with role plays but also with their new, real life friendships at camp.
