G&S friends, I'm happy to share that a G&S authority, Dr. Hal Kanthor of Rochester, requested copies of my Gondoliers poster and my Sorcerer poster for Bucks G&S, so that they can be added to the Kanthor Collection of Gilbert & Sullivan at Rochester University! Emily Kwak has sent info on her Iolanthe Opera Company's production of The Magic Flute, performing Aug. 22! It is presented in collaboration with Lauryn Boyle Music.
The performance will take place on Saturday, August 22nd at 7 PM at Manasquan United Methodist Church. Tickets are available at the door for $20, or $15 online at http://themagicflute.rsvpify.com/
We have an exceptional cast of singers on board for this performance, with accompaniment provided by pianist Julia Hanna. Our volunteer chorus currently has thirteen singers with a healthy balance of voice parts, but we would be happy to add one or two more singers per part. We will perform on-book in German from the Barenreiter vocal score. The chorus rehearsal will take place next Tuesday August 18th, so please let us know by this Friday if you are interested in singing with us.

Join us for a fun one-day workshop on Trial by Jury! Saturday, August 29 starting at 9 AM. We will work through the chorus & lead parts of this 35 minute long, easy-to-learn show, and have a lot of fun. The Schirmer score is available on Amazon or through the G&S Archives, and there are many videos on YouTube. We have a number of opportunities to produce this show for retirement communities, clubs, etc., and we may also perform it at our "Sing into Spring' Cabaret next March. It all takes place at the Binkley barn, 180 Matthews Avenue in New Britain. On Aug. 29th, we’ll learn and rehearse it for a couple of hours, have a bit of lunch, and run the show (on book) for family and friends. Please let me know NOW if you are interested. Announcing Auditions for our 2026 Autumn Dessert Cabaret!
Greetings, singers! You are invited to audition and perform for
Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan Society's Autumn Dessert Cabaret!
The Cabaret performs on Saturday, October 10 at 2 pm & 8 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Doylestown, and Sunday October 11 at 2 pm at The Evergreens, Moorestown, NJ. The repertoire for the Cabaret features G&S, operetta, and stage tunes, for solos and duets. While we encourage all to audition, please know we may not be able to cast every singer, due to limits on the performance time of the show. If you are NEW TO BUCKS G&S, and would like to sing in the Cabaret, we ask that you audition as early as possible. Please notify our Music Director, Lee Milhous ASAP as to your available dates & times for auditioning and your song choices - send a speedy email to [email protected]. Please write G&S CABARET in the subject line, and we will contact you about where, and when you may audition. Again, please don't wait till the last minute - contact Lee soon! TONIGHT some friends of Bucks G&S are singing! The Iolanthe Opera Company presents An Evening with Mozart at Salon 33, TONIGHT, Saturday July 11 at 8:00 pm. Mozart's operas and the singers he loved will be explored at a beautiful private venue in Princeton, NJ, with refreshments served. Singers include Meredith Buchholtz, Katherine Glinka, Emily Kwak, Brenten Megee, Susan Myers, Sarah Pardys, Dora Schnur, Cecilia Tepping-Goldschmidt, and Andrea DeVito on piano.
