Every year, the weekend after Labor Day, a mighty small town comes together to proudly showcase the magic of human creativity. That town is Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and this is our annual arts festival.
Through the experience of the two-day Doylestown Arts Festival, we directly support the work of over 300 artists and musicians from our local community and across the region. Our festival is unique in its picturesque location, the vibrant community that energetically supports it, and the regional artistic talent that resides here. Each year, we also welcome local museums, destinations, non-profit organizations, and small businesses to accompany the creative talent on display.
This past weekend proved to be one of our most successful events to date, featuring one of our most attended Saturday’s in recent memory with dozens of artists reporting record breaking sales. While Sunday started off with some rain, locals still came out with umbrellas to support our artists and enjoy live music on the streets. The weather cleared and crowds steadily streamed into the festival throughout the late morning and afternoon.
Drawing over 25,000 visitors across the two days, the festival creates an experience that is cherished by local residents and introduces our town to visitors from across the country. An event of this size has a direct economic impact that supports our artists, musicians, local businesses, and restaurants. We remain grateful to everyone who spent their weekend with us and helped contribute to this impact.
The Doylestown Arts Festival is organized by an all-volunteer committee of Discover Doylestown over the course of ten months of planning. We are fortunate to receive a massive outpouring of support from over 100 volunteers who work alongside organizers throughout the event weekend to ensure the event runs smoothly from well before sunrise until after everyone has returned home.
Events of this scale and caliber require enormous planning, cooperation, and joint organization to pull off. The Doylestown Arts Festival is supported by a large network of partnerships that start with our talented artists and musicians and extends to the Borough of Doylestown, Public Works, emergency services, generous sponsors, volunteer organizations, arts organizations, the local business community, our hard working production partners, and members of the local community who share a passion for the arts and creativity.
We'd also like to congratulate the Bucks County Classic on their successful races, which were held alongside the Doylestown Arts Festival on Sunday. The unique combination of these two events is a testament to the strong sense of community here in Bucks County and the Borough of Doylestown.
The Doylestown Arts Festival will return. Stay tuned for more details. For more information on other upcoming events in our community, please follow Discover Doylestown.
Thank you for making our 35th anniversary a massive success.
