Please join us in celebrating the life of Sprinkles, beloved Pals For Life bunny and Kristen's fur baby. In her 8 years as a therapy bunny, Sprinkles spread love and joy to thousands of people across our community. She cheered up people who were ill, lonely, sad, or anxious with her love, expert snuggling on laps, wiggling her nose and being ridiculously adorable. She could calm an entire room of anxious teenagers just by cuddling, and helped hundreds of children feel more confident in reading by being a non-judgemental audience for them to read to. She helped people who were isolated feel less lonely, and she brought her special brand of love to college students who trekked across campus just to spend time with her. During the pandemic, she starred in videos and zoom calls to bring connection to people who were struggling with the social distance. She was featured in a 6abc Hometown Hero piece, and recently was featured on Positively Philly on PHL17. She helped test and train incoming PFL therapy dogs. She also had a 100 percent success rate on predicting early Spring or extended winter on Groundhog Day. She would like everyone to know that she didn't cause the extended winter, just predicted what would happen. She loved people of all ages, and loved all of the PFL dogs. A woman who was struggling with mental health recently held her and said "I've never felt anything as soft as her fur. It's like petting a cloud. And she likes to just sit here with me and cuddle. I feel better than I have in a long time. I just realized that while she's been sitting on my lap, I forgot all my sadness."
For one little bunny, she spread so much joy. We are grateful for her life of service and for all that she did. We miss her terribly, but we cherish the memories. She leaves a legacy of love. Thanks for everything, sweet Sprinkles.
