The Rooftop Farm at Main Line Health King of Prussia is excited to start working more within the community to begin offering employee food distributions on every 4th Tuesday of the month. We have also opened up the Rooftop Farm to Employees and patients from 10-1 every Tuesday and Thursday to enjoy the space and explore the garden. We have had 26 staff visits and 1 patient so far.

Farm Update!

Greener Partners is completing an infrastructure improvement grant at Deaver Wellness Farm. Marking its 10th year, the farm was ready for essential upgrades to sustain and expand its operations. We outfitted the greenhouse with a new exhaust fan, vents, raised beds, and roll-up sides to optimize growing conditions, while adding six new outdoor raised beds and preparing for an upgraded cooler. Our most significant project involved replacing our aged perimeter with a timber deer fence, effectively protecting our crops from deer and smaller pests.

At the end of August, Greener Partners made smoothies with children on our smoothie bike; and distributed about 100 watermelons and peaches at St. Christopher's 16th Annual Back-to-School Carnival and Backpack Giveaway.

Thousands of kids and families from the community took part, receiving free backpacks stuffed with school supplies, and enjoying music, food, games, an energetic visit from everyone's favorite, the Phillie Phanatic, and much more.

You may recall, back in June, we announced that we were $27,000 away from a critical $200,000+ fundraising goal.

Achieving this goal would enable Greener Partners to provide our special programs to 26 additional partner schools. They had recently lost their SNAP-Ed funding. It left them with a gap that needed to be filled…immediately.
We asked you to help us meet the goal.

And you did!

I am thrilled to tell you that the Greener Partners donor community heard the call, dug deep, made this challenge go away for more than 2,500 students across our community.

It’s exhilarating to celebrate moments like this with you.

While reaching this goal was an important milestone…it’s far
from the end of the story.

It’s the beginning of what’s possible at Greener Partners.
The need for these programs continues. Greener Partners commitment to serving communities in need must endure.
