Celebrating what makes each camper GREAT!

As we wrapped up another GREAT Summer Camp, we wanted every camper to leave knowing that their strengths were seen, valued and celebrated.

Each camper received an award recognizing something they brought to camp this summer.

A huge thank you to DiscoverWorks_SEMichigan, PNC Foundation and Meijer for supporting GREAT Summer Camp and helping us create a summer full of learning, friendships, new experiences.

Recently, Detroit PAL alum Dante Moore came back to his hometown of Detroit during his offseason to host his Girls Flag Football Symposium for PAL girls.

Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, creating new opportunities for young female athletes to see a future for themselves in football.

For Dante, it was an opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape him.

Girls flag football participation at the high school level has grown more than 550% since 2021-22, jumping from 15,716 athletes to 102,360 in 2025-26. In the last year alone, participation increased another 48.7%, according to the NFHS.

Thank you Dante!

Our PAL girls participated in the Amazon.com Girls Flag Football Showcase & Clinic last Wednesday!

Former USA Flag Football QB Vanita Krouch joined us to share her journey and worked directly with the girls throughout the clinic.

The future of girls flag football is here in Detroit! 🏈

A huge thank you to Detroit PAL alum and Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore for giving back to our PAL families with a generous donation of Dove personal care products, including shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, candles and more.

We’ve been able to take these products directly into the community through our Coolin’ With Cops program, distributing them to cheer coaches, athletes and families across our participating organizations.

It’s always special to see our alumni continue to pour back into the communities that helped shape them.

Thank you Dante!

Coolin’ With Cops stopped by the Eastside Raiders!

During football and cheer practice, our youth had the opportunity to hear directly from Detroit Police Department officers about choices, accountability and their future. Corporal Norwood reminded them that one decision can have a lasting impact, and to make the right choices today.

We were also joined by a representative from the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA of Detroit, who spoke with our youth about saying no to drugs, understanding the consequences of their decisions and holding themselves and each other accountable.

A special thank you to JPMorganChase for continuing to support this program, the Detroit Police Department for showing up for our youth, and the Eastside Raiders for welcoming us into their Family Fun Day.

Coolin’ With Cops is about more than sports. It’s about meeting young people where they are.
