“If the celebration just stays for the moment and doesn’t become a movement, it doesn’t matter.”

From protecting Mary Sheffield’s leadership, to showing up in your own way, to understanding that not everyone has to run for office to make an impact—the conversation kept coming back to one thing:

These are real lives lost under ICE custody or through federal enforcement in the last 28 days.

People died in detention. Some of their deaths were ruled homicides. Others suffered medical neglect. ALL raise urgent questions about how power is being used.

ICE has been using force without accountability, even after two people were shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, and another 7 have died in ICE custody.
