What is a CSA share?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It’s a produce box packed full of grower-curated produce, herbs, and value added goods for all of your holiday needs! The produce in this share is sourced from Detroit-based growers who use practices that support healthy people, environments, and local economies. Each share is packed full of a wide variety of seasonal veggies, herbs, and fruits. It’s more than plenty for a family cookout for 4-6 people.

What’s in the Juneteenth CSA Share ?
While the final contents of the share are highly weather-dependent, they will be loaded with early summer favorites like, boc choi, microgreens, mushrooms, salad greens, cooking greens, garlic scapes, beets, herbs, and more!

How do we order a share?
Place an order at the KGD Online Farm Store: https://keep-growing-detroit.square.site/
An email will be sent to you on June 12 letting you know exactly what’s included in the share.
On June 18 between 5-7p pick up your share at KGD Farm, 3100 Orleans

Can’t wait for the CSA share?
Drop in this Saturday to the Grown in Detroit stand in Eastern Market Shed 2 for sustainably grown local, seasonal produce.

What’s at the Grown in Detroit stand this weekend?
- Rare/Unusual Heirloom Tomato Transplants - it’s the last weekend to find them at the stand!

In 2018, we launched the Growing a Medicine Garden series in partnership with herbalist Lottie Spady. It was important to us to create a learning space rooted in herbalism, community care, environmental and food justice. This series was designed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools to bring the healing power of plants into their communities and homes.

This year marks our 8th year! To honor our past cohorts and our relationship with our plant relatives we hosted a small reunion focused on foraging and fellowship. Many thanks to our friends for hosting us at Circle Forest and to our special guest and guide, ! We learned so much and we're so grateful to have had a beautiful day and time to enjoy each other's company.

The 2026 Growing a Medicine Garden Application is now open! If you are interested in this series, please visit our website to apply.

🫔🇵🇷🇵🇭🇲🇽 RSVP here: https://www.detroitagriculture.net/events/familyfoodways520

Together we’ll prepare and taste variations of beloved wrapped foods that tell stories across generations: Mexican-style tamales with rich mole or vibrant salsa, Filipino-inspired tamales flavored with coconut, peanut butter, and achiote, and Boricua pasteles with achiote oil. Though each dish comes from a different cultural lineage, they share common threads and the collective ritual of gathering to cook.

We are asking attendees to RSVP due to limited space and to ensure there’s enough for everyone to have a small tasting.

Happy Mother's Day from our resident mama bird and the whole KGD team! See you at Hot Crop Distribution!
