☀️Celebrate the last of summer - Grown in Detroit Labor Day CSA! To purchase and details check out the Online Farm Store: https://keep-growing-detroit.square.site/

The produce in the Grown in Detroit Labor Day CSA Share is sourced from Detroit-based growers who use practices that support healthy people, environments, and local economies.

Each share is packed full of a wide variety of seasonal veggies, herbs, and fruits. It’s more than plenty for a family cookout for 4-6 people.

While the final contents of the share are highly weather-dependent, they will be loaded with cook out favorites like heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, eggplant, potatoes, salad greens, cooking greens, garlic, carrots, beets, herbs, and more!

An email will be sent to you on Friday, August 28 letting you know exactly what’s included in the share.

*MARK YOUR CALENDARS* Your Grown in Detroit Labor Day Weekend CSA Share must be picked up at the KGD Farm on Thursday, September 3 between 5-7 pm.

The KGD Farm is located at 3100 Orleans (corner of Orleans and Wilkins in the Eastern Market). This is the only pick up time/date offered for this share!

✨THANK YOU for joining us 2026 Keep Growing Detroit Annual Farm & Garden Tour! The stories behind Detroit’s farms and gardens are at the heart of this tour. Across this year’s sold out tour routes, we explored a few of the many ways Detroiters are transforming land, growing food, restoring ecosystems, creating beauty, and building community. From pollinator habitats and urban reforestation to rain gardens, raised-bed farms, neighborhood gardens, and spaces centered on Indigenous crops, every stop had its own story to tell. We are especially grateful to all of our tour hosts and land stewards who welcomed us into their spaces and shared not only what they grow, but why they grow.

THANK YOU to the land stewards of each route:
🚌Westside Bus Tour: Brightmoor Botanical Garden, MSU Detroit Partnership for Food, Learning and Innovation, Cadillac Urban Gardens
🚌Eastside Bus Tour: Marjorie Street Garden, Little Detroit Community Garden, Goethe Garden.
🚲Bike Tour: Circle Forest, Land Back Garden, Reverie Garden

And, of course, we ended the evening the KGD way—around good food and good music. THANK YOU to Vamonos, Rose’s, and Detroit Food Academy for delicious bites featuring produce from the farm. And a special shout out to DJ Dig, who provided the soundtrack for the evening and kept the vibe going as we gathered back at the KGD Farm. Hope you can join us for next year’s tour!

☀️KGD Summering Break: August 10–16

From August 10 through August 16, Keep Growing Detroit’s office and farm will be closed as our team takes our first Summering Break. During this time, staff will be away from email and phones. We’ll look forward to reconnecting with you on Monday, August 17.

At Keep Growing Detroit, we believe in working with the rhythms of the seasons. The land teaches us that growth and abundance don’t happen without periods of rest and renewal. This week gives our team an opportunity to rest, reconnect with the people and places they love, and return ready for the final stretch of the growing season.

Thank you for supporting a culture that recognizes that caring for the people who care for our community and the land is an essential part of building a resilient local food system.
