In one reporting period, our Workforce Development Program secured $1,067,814 in training funds that went directly to Michigan employers. We also referred and helped connect more than 500 individuals to employment opportunities.

Through the Global Initiative, the Council developed formal relationships with Mexican agencies and automotive cluster networks and helped form three supplier consortiums - creating additional pathways for businesses to pursue cross-border sourcing, partnerships and growth between the United States and Mexico.

The goal of matchmaking is not to put two names on a calendar. A buyer-approved match begins when a procurement decision-maker reviews a business and asks to meet them - so the conversation starts with interest already established. In the most recent reporting year, those buyer-approved meetings, resulted in 78% of participants reporting the matches had strong potential for future RFPs.

Access to capital only matters when businesses can actually use it. By establishing relationships with 21 funding partners spanning debt, equity and mezzanine financing, the Council assembled access to more than $3.2 billion in available capital. More than $25 million was deployed to drive business growth during the documented program period.
