These MLK pioneers learned the blueprint. Now imagine what they’ll build. 🏠💪🏾

MLK Crusaders PTSA sponsored the Detroit Emerge: Blueprint for Homeownership Financial Literacy Workshop, giving initially 26 students an early look at homeownership, real estate, and the financial choices that help make both possible. Our Crusaders are the first DPSCD high schoolers to experience this program, and we’re proud to share a glimpse of it with you.

Thank you to Detroit Emerge creator, Cassandra Gibson, real estate broker and owner of Pavilion Services, for bringing your knowledge to our students. Let’s run it back this year!

Creating opportunities for our Crusaders. 💪🏾🎓

In our first full year as MLKC PTSA (2024–25), President Crystal Jahsinta and Vice President Jecinda Jones-Bettie presented our first $500 scholarship to our only senior student member, Kendall💕.

Kendall earned 40 community service hours, supported every fundraiser, and served as a student lead for several PTSA initiatives—all while balancing her senior year. Now a sophomore at Central State University, she is a pioneer that proves why this work matters. Thank you for your service, Kendall. We’re cheering you on! 🖤💛
