⛈️The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms beginning Wednesday evening and continuing into Thursday morning, with the potential for isolated flooding impacts through Friday.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected across the region, with some localized areas potentially receiving more than 3 inches. Residents should prepare for standing water on roadways, localized flooding, travel delays, and possible isolated power outages.

DWSD, GLWA, and the Wayne County Department of Public Services are actively monitoring conditions. Local and regional sewer systems are currently functioning as designed, and crews are prepared to respond as needed.

🚨Residents are encouraged to:

• Avoid driving or walking through flooded roadways or standing water.
• Reduce water usage during periods of heavy rainfall to help provide additional capacity in the sewer system.
• Secure outdoor furniture, trash bins, and other loose items that could be impacted by strong winds.
• Monitor local forecasts and emergency alerts for updates.

Please use caution and prioritize safety as weather conditions develop.
